Dr. Frank Mitloehner guests on Food Chain Chats Podcast

CLEAR Center Director talks about communicating sustainability in agriculture with host Andy Vance

CLEAR Center Director Dr. Frank Mitloehner joins host Andy Vance on the Food Chain Chats podcast where they discuss sustainability in livestock farming, rethinking methane — from liability to asset with proper management, and the importance of farmers communicating what they do and why they do it.

“There are two things that are really important in any society,” according to Dr. Mitloehner. “One is health; the other is food. While people have a fairly good understanding of health … they do not have a good understanding of the food sector. That’s something that needs to change.”

Dr. Mitloehner discusses his research in methane mitigation, the importance of effective communications for those in agriculture, as well as the five pillars of sustainability.

Launched in 2020 and produced by Arm & Hammer Animal and Food Production, each episode of Food Chain Chats features a wide-ranging, science-driven conversation between host Andy Vance and an important voice within the food chain, such as Dr. Mitloehner.
